(L) The printing of newspaper and magazines should be stopped totally and forthwith. The main reason for this is that these consume a huge amount of paper which is made be destroying trees. Total ban on printing of newspapers will help in saving trees and in effect environment. Another reason for this is that people’s voices are stifled by printed newspaper. People are unable to voice their views, opinions and feelings on printed newspapers so they are dependent on these newspapers whenever they want to express themselves because the newspapers have the power of discretion to choose which opinions, views and feelings to publish and which to suppress.
This gives immense power into the hands of newspapers. This makes people helpless and vulnerable against injustice. It has become common for newspapers to take undue advantage of this situation and thrust their own vested interests on people. The governments take these malafide interests as people’s own choices and make policies, laws and rules and regulations accordingly. This in turn created injustice on people which becomes almost impossible for people to undo.
News coming on mobile phones and other electronic media like television, should be made the main news platforms because here the viewers can express their feelings, views and opinions freely. This will enlighten the governments also about people’s feelings, views and opinions and also suggestions and help them in forming policies, laws, rules and regulations which may really help people.
