Developing India’s own Political and Societal Philosophy

Political Philosophy

(K) Our constitution has been derived from the constitutions of various democracies of the world, mainly the western world. Of course efforts were made to make it suitable for our country. Still it seems alien to us since it does not truly represent the values on which our society has lived all along, since it does not include our family system and Societal Philosophy into it. Therefore we should create India’s own Political and Societal Philosophy based on our own ancient and historical wisdom and experiences and rewrite our constitution in the light of these. Other widespread civilization’s wisdom and experiences should also be considered for this so that it becomes a guiding model for the world.
Here it is essential that these should be able to withstand any scientific scrutiny and the test of time.
The main objective of this constitution should be to create a well regulated, happy, healthy and tension free life for the citizens having various values and traditions for different classes of people at various stages of their lives. The main focus should be on maximizing the usefulness and utility of human resources at various stages of their lives, by encouraging and incentivising desired outcome, rather than penalising and punishing. In case of wrong doings, punitive actions should be taken which are designed for reforms and not for the pleasure and satisfaction of punishment for wrong doings.

Society

(K) (1) Ban Negative and Harmful philosophies –
All the philosophies, schools of thoughts or isms etc, which are based on selfishness, blind opposition, contempt or hatred for whatever is different from them, only divide and harm the society. They are also against the principles of democracy, which is based on the principles of consultations and consensus.
Hence these should be banned strictly and firmly. The examples of these are communism, naxalism, feminism, misandry, religionism, casteism, regionalism, linguistic separatism etc. Of course, they have some valid points and grievances and have concerning demands. These demands should be addressed and solved not as per their demands (for short term gains like votes and power ), but in a constructive and positive manner, so that it will not harm, hurt or affect the legitimate interests of their target groups. Justice for all and injustice for none should be the guiding factor in addressing and solving the issues raised by these groups. Such groups should be barred from holding direct political power and positions.
(K)(1)(a) Communism – Harmful for Democracy and Society
This is a system of rule which is born out of Marxism. This sees the society as two independent and unconnected groups. One large group of the have nots i.e. the labour class, which is always oppressed by a small group of the Haves which is the ruling class which controls all the wealth and means of production. The have nots are continuously taught to hate the Haves. This philosophy completely ignores the fact that wealth and enterprise are essential for wealth creation on which the society lives.
Their solution is a one party rule which controls all the wealth and means of production and distributes the outcome equally among the have nots. This is done through the party cadres. Since the party bosses called High Command have to rely on everything on the cadres, they support the cadres fully, come what may. This makes the cadres the new oppressors and the common people become totally helpless before them. They call this system the single party democracy, which is nothing but an eyewash, because the people have no choice but to vote for the only candidate available to them. This is nothing but dictatorship disguised as democracy. The communists are intelligent and can talk effectively. At the same time, they can be wily and deceptive and expert in hiding their true intentions. They are quick and efficient in using all the liberty and tools provided to the opposition by liberal democracy. However when they are in power, they refuse to give these to their opponent or to even those having differing viewpoints. On the other hand, they try to mercilessly suppress and even crush the opposition and opposing viewpoints, however small they may be. They have the same attitude towards common people also who dare to question them. Thus the common people as well as the opposition parties become helpless before the state and the party might.
The democracy is meant to give choices to people to choose their representatives, whom they can vote for. Also it is designed to always respect and take decisions according to the will and wisdom of the people. The communist philosophy and actions are exactly the opposite of this. Hence communism is harmful to democracy as well as the society and so deserves to be banned from holding any political power.
However since they may represent some true grievances of the people, they deserve to be consulted in such relevant issues.
(K)(1)(b) Naxalism –
This is the ultra wing of communism. They believe in disturbing, destroying and uprooting the existing democratic systems, processes and machinery through violent means. For this purpose, they spread unrest and hatred in people’s minds about some grievances, which can otherwise be solved amicably. Once some gullible people are hooked to them, they’ll threaten and terrorize them into doing any act of terrorism and destruction as per their schemes.
They are a threat to any society because they work to create chaos and fear and destroy every peaceful and system oriented society. This is so because they believe in their weird philosophy that something good will come out after chaos and total destruction. They are already banned by the government.
(K)(1)(c) Religionism –
India has many religions, the main religions being Hinduism, Islamism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism, Christianism etc. However in our democratic set up, the political constituencies are not made of any one particular religion, but they consist of many religious groups of varying strengths. Now some political parties are based on one particular religion like Islamic or Sikhism etc. Some parties are based on Ambedkar’s thoughts i.e. religion and backwardness. These may have a good hold on an electorate in some constituencies. When candidates belonging to such parties get elected, people belonging to their category may benefit. However other categories of such constituencies are denied any representation and hence have to suffer injustice. In this way the very purpose of all the democratic exercise gets defeated.
Hence such parties should be kept away from electoral politics and political representation in the government. Only such parties which give equal justice to different categories, should be allowed to enter electoral process and through that political power. That means only the parties which truly follow the principle of “sab ka saath, sab ka vikas, sab ka vishwas and sab ka prayas” should be allowed to contest elections and get political power. However, the religious parties can be treated as social representatives of such people belonging to that religion. The issues and problems of such groups can be solved by consulting such representatives.
