Hello everyone! I am Ashok K. Joshi born in the year of Independence, post Independence. I like to call that Born Free! Born in Dharwad, Karnataka, my family shifted to Kolhapur, Maharashtra when I was 6 years old. My schooling was done at Kolhapur in Marathi medium until SSC, which was 11th std. then. Two years of college education was also at Rajaram College, Kolhapur. Then 4 years of B.E. in Electrical Engg. was done at B.V. Bhoomraddi college at Hubli, Karnataka University, Dharwad. I passed out in 1972. Just then a long period of unemployment stated. After a fruitless job search for 3 or 4 years, I decided to go for self employment and started a small tea powder shop at Kolhapur. This I ran successfully for about 3 years. But I always wanted to work in technical field. So I joined as an Apprenticeship Trainee, at Ichalkaranji Elec. Supply Co. After working there for a few months, I was lucky to get a job as Junior Engr. in MSEB. This I joined in 1979 and worked there until I retired as Dy. Ex. Engr. in 2005. Since then I am leading retired life.
